A festive moment with a hidden face—that’s the spirit of Carnival! While making these masks with the kids, I wanted to share my memories of Carnival in France: the costumes, the street celebrations, and the joyful atmosphere marking the end of winter and the arrival of spring.

Materials :
Cardstock paper
Pencil
Scissors
Craft knife
Ruler
Paint
Paintbrushes
Colored pencils
Hole punch
Elastic string
Optional: hot glue gun (great for helping little ones stay within the lines)
Step-by-step :
Draw and cut out a mask from the cardstock. Cut out the eye holes with a craft knife (under adult supervision).
Sketch patterns on different areas of the mask with a pencil.
(Optional): Trace over the patterns with a hot glue gun to create defined sections for coloring.
Color and/or paint the different parts of the mask.
Punch two holes on each side and attach the elastic string.
And that’s it! With these beautiful masks, let the festivities begin! 🎭
