1- Download the PDF (Warning: it won't fit all the door):
Option 1: the ready-made lock - just two cuts, and it can be attached to the handle of your choice!
Option 2: the multi-piece lock for little ones who like to cut and glue.
2- For those who want to make an adaptable model for their door, a complete DIY using cardboard
Materials:
cardboard;
Yellow and black paper
Pencil
Ruler
Cutter
Scissors
Markers (yellow, gold and black)
Glue
Step-by-step:
Measure around the doorknob (a comprehensive maths exercise involving shapes, measurements, symmetry and scale!) Then trace your template on the cardboard with a pencil.
Make a pattern for the central oval shape and the figure's headdress, transfer it to the yellow paper and cut it out.
Cut out the outline and a small central hole with a cutter.
Glue the elements to the front of your character. Then turn the cardboard over and cut out the paper for the central part.
Cut two screws on yellow paper and the lock on black paper. Glue all these elements onto the character.
Finish your character by drawing eyes, eyebrows and other details with the markers.
Now you are ready to fix your character to the door of your choice.
Enjoy your trip to Wonderland!
