Are you a fan of Alice in Wonderland? I am! I’ve loved this magical world since I was little (I must have watched the animated movie a hundred times, not to mention all the books I’ve read!). I think I’ve passed on my love for it to my kids, who are now huge fans, too.
Here is a tutorial to make a Cheshire Cat (with the possibility of making it glow!)
Materials :
Toilet paper roll
Piece of cardboard (I used a paper plate)
Paints (pink, purple, and red)
Glue
Tissue paper (yellow and white)
Black marker
Craft knife
Scissors
Pencil
Black marker
electric candle (not mendatory)
Step-by-step :
Draw the head and upper body of the Cheshire Cat with a pencil.
With a cutter, remove the excess parts around the cat, to keep only the drawn cat. Remove these parts from the complete TP roll. Then only on the drawn part of the face, cut the inside of the eyes and teeth.
On soft cardboard (here for me, a leftover paper plate), trace and cut out a tail
Now it's time to paint, alternating pink and purple colors. For the top of the face, I darkened the pink with a little red.
Then, use a black marker to finish the eyes and the outline of the teeth.
Cut out white and yellow tissue paper. Glue the white inside the cat to make the teeth and the yellow under the eyes.
Glue the two top parts of the cat together and the tail to the back.
tips: you can place the cat on an electric candle to see its eyes and mouth glow at night.
